
Book which illustrate the History of Morley Borough between 1886 and 1974, the time at which Morley ceased to be a Borough and became a part of Leeds. David Atkinson was born in Morley in 1937 and lived there all his life. He worked in the area as a schoolmaster and was interested in its local history all his life. He wrote 4 books on the subject and numerous newspaper articles. Besides this he amassed a large collection of photographs, many of which have been copied onto the Leodis web-site.

9 July 1986. The winners were Morley High School and the losers were Horbury. Mr Jack Brumfitt is behind Mr Atkinson, with white sports jacket, blue open necked shirt. He was the grandson of TK Brumfitt. Geoff Green, in the blue checked shirt, is between George and Jack. Then at the back [L/R]: Bernard Smith, Stan Townend and Les Jackson can be seen on either side of the winning captain. Laurie Castle is obscured by Mr Atkinson.
